Zrinski , also Zrinjski ( Hungarian Zrínyi , German Serin , Zerin , Zrinyi or Zriny ), was a Croatian - Hungarian noble family .
history
The noble family Zrinski was a branch of the old Croatian noble family of Šubić , who named themselves after the Zrin castle in the Zrinska gora mountainous landscape in central Croatia since 1347 . The progenitor was Georg I. Zrinski († 1361). The noble family was elevated to the rank of count in 1554 and died out in 1703.
