Zu Asche, zu Staub is the theme song of the German TV series Babylon Berlin from 2017. It was written in 2016 for the TV series by Tom Tykwer , Mario Kamien and Nikko Weidemann .
In the television series Severija Janušauskaitė sings the song in the role of Swetlana Sorokina or Nikoros on the stage of the Moka Efti nightclub . She appears in androgynous costumes (including a Menjou mustache ) and is accompanied by a stage orchestra and a ballet burlesque dancers whose costumes refer to Josephine Baker's little banana skirt . A distinctive element of the piece is a drum solo in the middle of the song - played by Larry Mullins (member of Nick Caves' band The Bad Seeds ).
The song was part of the soundtrack of BMG Rights Management on CD published. In it he appeared in two versions: as Zu Asche, Zu Staub (Psycho Nikoros) [Finale Season 2] and as Zu Asche, Zu Staub (Psycho Nikoros) . The song is used in the trailer for the television series.
