Zubair Ahmed

Zubair Ahmed (* approx. 1955) is a former Pakistani badminton player who comes from Bahawalpur . At the beginning of April 1982 he won the individual competition of the French Open and a few weeks later he reached the semifinals at Austrian International in May . In addition, he won the 1985 in Peshawar 31st Pakistani Badminton Championships . Ahmed was team captain of a United Bank team that included Tariq Wadood . In retrospect, contemporaries describe him as a very disciplined player and a strict and committed captain.

On December 26, 2016, he was one of 20 winners who received the Shan-i-Bahawalpur Award , newly created by the district administration , in recognition of their services .
