In beekeeping, the sugar value describes the amount of nectar secreted by a flower of a certain forage plant in 24 hours in milligrams and is given as a dimensionless value , multiplied by its sugar concentration in percent.

There are often considerable differences in the sugar levels of the same plants, which can be traced back to the characteristics of the individual plant and environmental conditions.

Particularly high sugar values ​​were found for the raspberry (up to 3.8 mg of sugar per flower in 24 hours), the summer linden (up to 7.7), the silver linden (up to 5), the winter linden (up to 3.57), the broad bean (up to 4.2) and the gooseberry (up to 5.41) were determined.
