Vehicle kilometers

A measure of mileage is referred to as vehicle kilometers ( vehicle kilometers) or vehicle kilometers . A vehicle mileage corresponding to the movement of a single vehicle , over a distance of one kilo meter .

Vehicle kilometers are used in traffic statistics to determine the intensity of traffic route use and the amount of traffic performed . Here, the sum of all services provided by the corresponding vehicles is formed. For billing purposes, the commercial vehicle kilometers (Nkm) are specified, which represent the total number of vehicle kilometers minus empty and workshop trips.

Usually a vehicle kilometer is related to a special means of transport , such as train kilometers , bus kilometers or car kilometers.
