Zugspitz Ultratrail

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zugspitz Ultratrail (abbreviated to ZUT; full name SALOMON Zugspitz Ultratrail powered by LEDLENSER after the title sponsor Salomon and the presenter Ledlenser) is an ultramarathon that runs counter-clockwise on trails from Grainau around the Zugspitze . Since it was first held in 2011, it has been one of the most demanding mountain marathons in Germany with a route length of 100 kilometers and almost 5400 vertical meters to be overcome as well as a time limit of 26 hours and has also established itself internationally with participants from over 40 nations. Over the years, the Supertrail XL ( Ehrwald ), the Supertrail ( Leutasch ), the Basetrail XL ( Mittenwald ) and the Basetrail ( Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) were added four more routes, each with new starting locations, so that the entire Zugspitz Arena Bayern- Tyrol was included. The destination for all distances is in Grainau .

stretch

Ultratrail : On the Ultratrail distance, the participants have to cope with just over 100 kilometers and more than 5,400 meters in altitude. Some of the most beautiful trail running sections in the entire Alpine region await you. Among other things, the Zugspitze (Germany's highest mountain at 2962 meters) is circled, but also the entire Wetterstein Mountains.

Supertrail XL : The start of the Supertrail XL with 79.3 kilometers and 4,156 vertical meters takes place in Ehrwald directly at the foot of the Tyrolean Zugspitze and grinds into the Ultratrail route after just a few kilometers.

Supertrail : The Supertrail distance with at least 60.7 kilometers and just under 3,000 meters in altitude will demand everything from the participants: Right after the start in Leutasch-Weidach, the condition of the participants on the ascent to Scharnitzjoch is required before it is together with the ultra runners continues on the same route.

Basetrail XL : The Basetrail XL has it all, despite its "only" 35.6 kilometers. Shortly after the start in Mittenwald, the participants of the short distance meet the Ultra and Supertrail runners.

Basetrail : The Basetrail route, newly introduced in 2015, is aimed at all trail runners and well-trained road runners with a 25.1 km horizontal distance and 1595 meters of ascent. After starting right in the center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the route leads over the Kochelberg to the Partnachalm, where the first refreshment point is already located. From here the merger with the other routes takes place.
