The church

The listed Protestant village church to the Holy Trinity in the district is Gießübel the community Schleusegrund in Hildburghausen in Thuringia .

The church was built in the years 1722 and 1723 in the baroque style and consecrated under the name "To the Holy Trinity".

The architectural style in the form of an octagon with reinforced corners that act like buttresses is intentional. There is an entrance portal on the north and west sides . The other sides have large windows. An hour chime from 1745 hangs in the roof turret .

The bronze bells of the peal are from 1926, 1949 and 1950 and were placed in the bell house above the church.

Inside, the basic shape of the church determines the furnishings. The gallery runs over all sides. On the west side is the organ by Johann Christian Dotzauer , a master organ builder from Hildburghausen and a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach . In the course of time, however, it was renewed and rebuilt in order to keep pace with developments, for example in 1841 by the master organ builder Michael Schmidt from Schmiedefeld.

The Martin Luther parish house, which also serves as a winter church, has stood above the church since 1950 .

In 2003 the roof was renovated. It was discovered that the striking hour bell was hidden in the roof turret. She hits again.
