The Zusters Dienstmaagden van Maria or Des religieuses servantes de Maria ( dt. : Handmaids of Mary) was a Roman Catholic women's orders in Belgium . In 1816 the pastor of Erps-Kwerps , Ferdinand Ludwig de Cooman († 1823) founded a school. This was taken care of by some pious women who were united in 1834 in the congregation "Des religieuses servantes de Marie".

The Congregation of Episcopal Law was confirmed by the Archbishop of Mechelen , Cardinal Engelbertus Sterckx . The nuns followed the religious rule of St. Ignatius of Loyola , the founder of the Jesuit order . They founded further branches in Kraainem , Steenokkerzeel , Nederokkerzeel, Herent (until 1933), St.-Stevens-Woluwe , Wijgmaal (until 1933), St. Jans Molenbeek (until 1944) and Zonhoven (until 2008). In 1958/59 the school of the mother house was converted into a nursing home. At home in youth and school work, the sisters expanded their field of activity since 1960. In 1961 the congregation counted 53 professed sisters in six houses and in August 1964 it united with the Augustinies of Zwartstersters van Halle .
