In 1946 the engineers Jean Zwahlen and Maurice Cosandey set up a technical department within the company, in which modern theories and methods for calculating and realizing steel structures were developed. The company subsequently became one of the largest steel manufacturers in Switzerland. In 1964 it moved to a new production site in Aigle and specialized in particular in bridges and heavy structures.
