action

July: Louise's parents express their condolences to a friend whose daughter was addicted to drugs and who has died. Louise is a well-sheltered 15-year-old girl who has not seen her friend Kelly, who comes from another social class, for a long time, as she is also allegedly hidden in the drug scene. Kelly's parents have also lost sight of their daughter. Kelly describes her situation in a letter to Louise: she is not addicted at all, she lives with a certain Panky and is broke.

Flashback, 5 months before (February): The former schoolmates Louise and Kelly see each other again after a long time. Together with Louise's friend Matthew, they look at photos at Louise's home. Kelly's situation at home is unpleasant: the parents are separated, the mother's boyfriend is rejected by Kelly. She spends an evening with her father, from where she fled to Louise at night from an obtrusive friend of her father's.

Flashback, 1 month before (January): When visiting Louise, Kelly invites her boyfriend Sam over, Louise and her mother are outraged.

Flashback, 1 month before (December): Kelly and Louise have passed the entrance exam for the “City Girls” school and are giving a party at Louise's house on the occasion. Kelly's mother's friend, however, forbids the girl from attending school, as he considers the business there to be reactionary.

Flashback, 2 months before (October): The two friends write letters to each other like little girls and are happy about positive test results.
