history
The group of houses was created at the end of the 18th century on the edge of the Richterwiese on the deforested southern slope of the Bieleboh mountain range. On the miles sheet of 1804, four houses are listed at this point. From 1840, the upper part of the Richterwiese was also built on with houses and a bleaching area.
When the construction of the observation tower and inn on the Bieleboh began in the summer of 1882, the building materials were transported over the Zwenke to the mountain. The continuous rain that set in at the end of August softened the driveway to the Bieleboh so that it was soon impassable for carts. The students from Beiersdorf carried the 16,000 bricks still required for further construction from the Zwenke up to the mountain for a fee of two pfennigs each. After the well on the Bieleboh almost dried up during the dry summer of 1913, a 600 m long water pipe was laid from a strong spring well in the Zwenke to the Bieleboh in 1914. The pipe, which was laid at a depth of 1 ¼ m through the blasted rock, overcame a height difference of 80 m with the help of an electric plunger pump .
The settlement north of the Beiersdorf manor was always part of Beiersdorf.
In the census of May 9, 2011, the Zwenke consisted of 22 residential buildings in which 55 people lived. The average age was 46 years.
