Zygmunt Maciejewski

Zygmunt Maciejewski (born December 21, 1914 in Berlin , † August 12, 1999 in Warsaw ) was a Polish actor.

Zygmunt Maciejewski studied Romance Philology at the University of Warsaw and graduated in 1939. He then became a soldier and took part in the September fighting after the Germans attacked Poland. During the German occupation he worked as a French teacher in Częstochowa . After the Second World War Maciejewski received acting lessons in Poznan and made his theater debut there in 1945. In 1948 he passed his acting exam and stayed in Poznan until 1949, where he worked at the local theaters. From 1949 to 1981 he played on the Warsaw stages. From 1951 to 1961 he was a member of the Polish National Theater ensemble. In 1981 he retired and in 1989 appeared for the last time as a guest at the Teatr Kwadrat in Warsaw.

He made his film debut in 1956 in Andrzej Munks The Man on the Rails at the side of Kazimierz Opaliński . In 1983 he starred in Frank Beyer's film The Stay with Sylvester Groth . In addition to movies, Zygmunt Maciejewski was often seen in television theater productions and played radio plays.
