AG Thorpe Developments was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from Darley Abbey in County Derbyshire began in 1979 with the modification and in 1983 with the production of automobiles and kits . The brand name was Shelsley . In 1983 the company moved to Burton-upon-Trent in Staffordshire . Production ended in 1985.

vehicles

Between 1979 and 1985 the company offered conversion kits called Custom Spridget . These conversion kits included a new fiberglass front for the Austin-Healey Sprite and MG Midget . 40 of these were sold.

The Spyder was a complete vehicle and also available as a kit . The base was either the chassis of the Triumph Herald or Triumph Vitesse or a ladder frame that took an engine from Ford or Lotus Cars . The 1930s-style open body was similar to the Alfa Romeo sports cars of the time . A total of about five copies were made.
