MC was a British car brand.

Brand history

Mark Clarkson, his wife Joy Clarkson and Phil Booth founded in 1984, the company MC Cars in Sheffield in the county of South Yorkshire . They started making automobiles and kits . The brand name was MC . Carlton Automotive from Barnsley in South Yorkshire continued production from 1989 to 1995. The last manufacturer was Ian Birks Car Care from Sheffield in 1995 . A total of eight copies were made.

The only model was the Acer . It was similar to Turner Sports from Turner Sports Cars from the 1960s. The base formed a chassis made of steel . A fiberglass body was mounted on top. The open cars offered either space for two or 2 + 2 people. Various four-cylinder engines from Ford Escort , Vauxhall Viva , Hillman Avenger , Datsun 120 Y , Morris Marina , Triumph Spitfire and Triumph Dolomite powered the vehicles.
