Acquatec Indústria e Comércio was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in São Paulo . In 1983 the production of automobiles began in a plant in Volta Redonda . The brand name was Acquatec . Production ended in 1986. Só Buggy took over the designs.

The first model was the VW Vega buggy . However, he had a tubular frame instead of the typical buggies chassis from VW Beetle . The front headlights were angular and came from the Fiat 147 .

In 1985 a Baja Bug added to the range. This was a VW Beetle where the front and rear hoods and fenders were replaced by differently shaped parts made of fiberglass . This measure resulted in an increased off-road capability and a different appearance. The original four - cylinder boxer engine powered the vehicles.
