Polystil Indústria e Comércio was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Wladimir Martins, who also ran Woody Veículos , founded the company in Rio de Janeiro in 1978 to produce automobiles. The brand name was WMV . Production ended in 1986. Py Motors continued to manufacture a model under its own brand name.

The first WMV model was a two-seat hatchback coupe that resembled a 1975 Maserati . An unabridged chassis from VW Brasilia a body made was fiberglass mounted. It was only 115 cm high. The pop-up headlights were striking . The taillights were from the Ford Maverick . An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine in the rear drove the rear wheels.

In 1982 the World Cup II followed . The chassis was revised. It had a lot of ventilation slots in the B-pillar . There was a wrong radiator grille on the front of the vehicle . The taillights came from the Chevrolet Opala . About 55 vehicles were made from these two models.

The Savana appeared in 1983 . It was based on the platform from the Chevrolet Opala that had been shortened by 25 cm, so it had a front-wheel drive engine. Engines with a displacement of 2500 cm³ and a displacement of 4100 cm³ were available.
