L'Automobile Distribuidora de Veículos Ltda. was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Claudio Campuzzano and Guillermo Pardo founded the company in São Paulo in 1975 . They started developing automobiles. The first vehicle was presented in June 1976. The brand name was L'Automobile . In April 1981 Tander Car was taken over. Production ended in 1983. L'Auto Craft Montadora de Veículos took over the project and continued production under its own brand name.

The first model was a replica of the Alfa Romeo P3 from 1931. The base was the chassis of the VW Brasília . An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine from Volkswagen do Brasil with a displacement of 1600 cm³ and twin carburetors was mounted in the rear and powered the rear wheels.

The replica of a Bugatti Type 35 was also initially planned.

In 1978 the Ventura followed on the same basis. This was a visually independent coupe with 2 + 2 seats. The vehicle was 414 cm long.

In 1981 a VW buggy was added to the range that had previously been manufactured by Tander Car .

In the same year, the Ventura RS received a water-cooled four - cylinder in- line engine from the VW Passat with a displacement of 1600 cc.
