Besson, Gobbi & Cia. Ltda. , previously Aldo Auto Capas , was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company Aldo Auto Capas in 1966 in Porto Alegre founded. Initially, it manufactured accessories for cars. In 1976 the first vehicle was presented at an exhibition. Series production of automobiles began in 1977. The brand name was initially only Miura . In 1983 the name was changed to Besson, Gobbi & Cia. Ltda. The vehicles were also exported to Portugal and Kuwait, and from 1982 right-hand drive to Singapore . Between 1985 and 1990 the company also used the brand name Galgo . Production of the Miura models ended in 1993. A total of around 3,500 Miura vehicles were built. Pick-ups were still being converted until around 1997 .

Brand name Miura

Nilo Laschuk designed the first vehicle. The chassis of the VW Brasília formed the basis. The air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine was mounted in the rear. A fiberglass body was mounted on top. The only 114 cm high coupé was inspired by the Lamborghini Miura .

In 1979 or 1980 the Miura MTS was added. It had a water-cooled four - cylinder in- line engine from the VW Passat with an output of 96  hp .

In 1981 the Miura Targa was added with a Targa roof and space for 2 + 2 people. It had a tubular frame and a front engine. 559 vehicles of this model had been built by 1988.

From 1983 there was also the coupé and a cabriolet with a front engine. A convertible -called convertible with rear engine was also released in 1983, but was not a success.

The saga followed in 1986 .

Brand name Galgo

In 1985 the VW buggy Galgo appeared . A shortened VW chassis, a boxer engine in the rear, an open body made of fiberglass, four seats and a false radiator grille on the front were its features.

Galgo Indústria de Carrocerias from the same place continued the production of the buggy and a pick-up on the same mechanical basis from 1990 to 1992 while retaining the brand name.
