David Kustoff (2017)

David Frank Kustoff (born October 8, 1966 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American politician . Since January 3, 2017, he has represented the state of Tennessee in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1985 David Kustoff graduated from White Station High School in Memphis . He then studied business administration at the University of Memphis until 1989 . After completing a law degree at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law , also in Memphis, and being admitted to the bar in 1992, he began to work in this profession. In 1998 he founded the law firm Kustoff Law Firm, Private LLC . He still works as a lawyer today. In the meantime he was a federal attorney for the western part of the state of Tennessee from 2006 to 2008 .

Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In the 1990s he was their party leader in Shelby County. In 2000 and 2004 he headed the campaign team in his home country for the successful Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush . He also performed the same function for Lamar Alexander , who successfully ran for the US Senate in 2002 . In 2002 he applied for a seat in Congress for the first time . However, he failed in the primary elections of his party. In the congressional elections of 2016 Kustoff in the eighth was constituency of Tennessee against the Democrats Rickey Hobson in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he succeeds on January 3, 2017 Stephen Fincher took, who in 2016 did not stand.
