Karaman is a province of Turkey , with the capital of the same name Karaman and the district that occupies almost half of the province's territory. In addition, 77% of the provincial population is concentrated in this county.
The province, created in 1989, borders the province of Antalya in the southwest , Mersin in the south and Konya in the north .

At the 2011 census, the average age in the province was 30.1 years (national average: 29.6), with the female population being 0.9 years older than the male population (30.6-29.6).

Villages
The 158 villages have a total of 50,494 inhabitants, i.e. an average of 320 inhabitants per village. Most of the villages are located in the central district ( Merkez ), namely 93. They have a total of 27,551 inhabitants, which corresponds to a share of 54.5 percent. Of all the villages in the province, seven have more than 1,000 inhabitants. Kılbasan (1,646), Çakırbağ (1,596), Dumlugöze (1,558) and Civler (1,276 pop.) Are the largest of these.

The forest recreation site of Gökçe, the Maraspoli cave, the citadel of Karaman , Ermenek (Firan) and Mennan, the madrasas of Hatuniye, Emir Musa and Ibrahim Bey with soup kitchens and the Tol madrasa, the great mosques (ulu cami) of Gaferyad ( ermenek, Kazımkarabekir) and Yollarbaşı (Ilisra), mosques of Haji Beyler, Aktekke (Valid Sultan) Arapzade, Paschal, Dikbasan (Fasih) Akçaşehir, Sipas and Mimar Emir Riistem Paschal, the Yunus-Emre Mosque and the Derwischkloster , small mosque of Şeyh Çelebi and Akça Mescit, the poor kitchen and Türbe of Karamanoğlu, the Bıçakçı Bridge and the Ala Bridge, the fountain with seven tubes, the Karaman Museum , the Can Hasan Höyük Center - Alçatıköyü, Binbirkilise am Karadağ with the centers Madenşehir and Üçkuyu as well as the Hittite rock inscriptions of Karadağ and Kızıldağ .
