Reichenberg is a market in the district of Würzburg in the administrative district of Lower Franconia .
geography
The Reichenberg market is located south of the city of Würzburg. Reichenberg Castle is located on the eastern edge of the village .

history
Until the church is planted
Reichenberg was part of the Albertshausen manor of the barons von Wolfskeel , which belonged to the Franconian knight circle . It was mediated by the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in 1806 and came to Bavaria with this in 1814. In 1818 the political municipality was established.

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Reichenberg was given the suffix Markt .
Incorporations
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent communities Albertshausen, Lindflur, Uengershausen and the market place Fuchsstadt were incorporated.

mayor
Mayor is Stefan Hemmerich (SPD). He replaced the previous mayor Karl Hügelschäffer (CSU) in a runoff election on March 30, 2014. Hemmrich prevailed on March 15, 2020 with a voter turnout of 73.1% against two competitors with 57.0% of the vote and was elected for a further six years.

The description of the municipal coat of arms, introduced in 1980, reads: "Under a silver shield head, inside a striding, looking black lion with a folded tail, in red a bouquet of three stalked silver heraldic roses with golden lugs".

In 2017 there were 982 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 1613 people were in an employment relationship subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 631 more than that of in-commuters. 42 residents were unemployed. In 2016 there were 49 farms.
traffic
Reichenberg is on the Stuttgart – Würzburg railway line between Lauda and Würzburg . In December 2010 , a stop went into operation , 800 meters from Reichenberg station, which was closed in 1977 . Since then, regional trains to Würzburg and Lauda have stopped here every hour during the day. There is a public transport connection to the city of Würzburg via bus every 30 to 60 minutes. Reichenberg can be reached by private car via the B19 federal road and from the Kist junction via the A7 motorway.
