Saint Martin Church

Villefontaine is a French municipality with 18,763 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton L'Isle-d'Abeau and belongs to the municipality of Porte de l'Isère .

geography

Villefontaine is located in the Dauphiné about 25 kilometers southeast of Lyon on the A43 autoroute . It consists of the quarters: Les Roches , Servenoble , Saint-Bonnet (modern city center), Le Mas de la Raz , Les Fougères (village outside the actual city center), Le Vieux village (old city center) and Les Armières .
