Throughout the year Von's Vision organizes project days, "Von's Vision Days", where children can get eye exams and, if required, visual aids.
From Vision Days
Von's Vision Days is a two-day program. The foundation cooperates with national and regional partners to offer free eye exams to children from low-income families throughout the city. These are carried out on the first day and, if visual aids are required, an appointment is made to pick up the glasses the next day. After the glasses are made, Miller throws a party where the children get the glasses fitted. Here the children have the opportunity to come into contact with Miller and get used to their new glasses.
From Miller's Nack to School Vision Day
Von Miller has been holding a Vision Day before the start of the new school year since 2015. Every year around 5,000 children from low-income families who have never been to an ophthalmologist or optician before attend public schools in Denver. More than 1,900 of them need visual aids. The program is designed in such a way that the children are examined and, if necessary, have glasses made within minutes. The examination, preparation of the glasses and fitting takes less than an hour.
