Jainagar (also spelled as Jaynagar) is a town and a notified area of Madhubani district in Bihar, India. It is situated on the holy Kamala River and has road and rail connections to Bihar's main cities like Patna and also to neighbouring country Nepal. The Jainagar is well connected to Janakpur province of Nepal by a narrow gauge rail line but from 2014 the Indian government decided to convert that line into broad gauge rail line so the steering of trains were stopped .
