He made his international test debut at the age of 22 on 27 September, 1997 against Uruguay. He has so far scored 165 points for Argentina including 5 tries. He has played most of his career for the Hindú Club in Argentina, and the Buenos Aires Representative Team, where he is in charge of the strategic management of Hindú Club and the Buenos Aires representative team alongside his older brother, fellow Puma Nicolás Fernández Miranda.
