Career

Pichot began his career at the Argentine club CASI , with which he won the championship in his home country. In 1997 he moved to England for Richmond FC . Before that, he had been a national player for two years. In April 1995 he made his debut for the "Pumas" on a tour to Australia . In his first game he scored a try . After two years at Richmond, Pichot moved to Bristol in 1999 . In the same year he took part with Argentina in the World Cup, where the Pumas managed to advance to the quarterfinals. There they lost despite an attempt by Pichot against France .

After the successful World Cup, Pichot was first nominated as captain in 2000 when Argentina faced Ireland . In the following years he was an important part of the team that was able to establish itself in world rugby. In 2003 he moved to Stade Français in the French top 14 . At the World Cup in the same year he was the captain of the team that narrowly failed in the preliminary round by a 15:16 defeat in the final game against Ireland. Pichot also took part in the following World Cup in 2007 . The World Cup in France was the biggest success of the Pumas so far, who secured third place at this tournament by beating the hosts. As a result of victories against top-class opponents, Argentina climbed to third place in the IRB world rankings .

Pichot was the first foreign captain at Stade Français and won the French championship with this team in 2007. Following this success, he moved to Racing Métro 92 in the second division of France, where he missed promotion. He then temporarily ended his career, but returned in March 2009 and sat on the bench of Stade Français in their game against US Montauban .
