Sure. I'll try to examine it later. I'm in the middle of sorting out a new GeoBot which potentially could double the size of wikipedia within a few months if approved [[User:Blofeld of SPECTRE| <span style="border:1px solid blue;padding:1px;"> <font style="color:#fef;background:black;">'''''♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦'''''</font>]]</span> [[User talk:Blofeld of SPECTRE| <font size="-4"><font color="Black">'''$1,000,000?'''</font></font color> ]] 13:41, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Akash6f.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mspraveen (talk) 15:49, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I had to do this as it fails the criteria. Please don't mind. Mspraveen (talk) 15:50, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

that would be awesome if we would have a peer review. though i do not write himachal pradesh articles anymore since not much users were interested; i tried my best to motivate and many times i was fooled. well now i have also written a few good articles which i created myself. one of those is Economic development in India. anyway now i think i can help promoting himachal pradesh article. thanks a lot for your active participation. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Akash6f.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Akash6f.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:15, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

on license of an image

Hi, I want to add an image of a book-cover. I can take a photograph and upload. But, I am not sure what should be the licensing for that image. Can you advise on this? Thanks.GDibyendu (talk) 16:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for asking. I have one more question. When I search in say google, and get some images, how do I know whether an image is free-to-use or not? THanks.GDibyendu (talk) 18:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chak De article

Hi Dwaipayanc, Hope all is well. I've been working on the 2007 film article, Chak De India and think it is at the point where - with help from some other editors - it could move to at least GA status. I'm (not very successfully) trying to take a semi-wikibreak so that I can attend to RL - but am checking in every once and awhile. I know you have a number of RL commitments as well, so if you don't have the time to work on it, that's fine - if you know of other editors who might want to put some time into it, that would be also great. Regards, -Classicfilms (talk) 00:21, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I moved the quotes to Wikiquote (with link to that site). Yes, the references need to be formatted. I've reworked the page quite a bit over the past two weeks - formatting and adding of material by other editors will greatly enhance it. Hope you have a chance to contribute - and I will contact User:Mspraveen as you suggested. Hope all is well. -Classicfilms (talk) 08:29, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've formatted the references. -Classicfilms (talk) 16:45, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ack! :-) As you can probably guess, references are my least favorite part of Wikipedia articles :-) If you have some time, and would like to add the dates, I'd appreciate it. I actually have to sign off for a few days to meet a RL deadline. If you don't have time, I could attend to it later in the week.
I'm actually not convinced it's ready for GA even with the dates, which is why I'm trying to get more editors to work on it. The production section needs more development, and the reviews need more balance. A few more pairs of eyes to develop this would really help.
The film is out on DVD so you should be able to rent it. Not only is it an excellent film and IMHO one of SRK's best, it was a hit, won awards, and brought attention to a neglected subject. So I think the topic is GA worthy. I realize you can't really contribute until you see the film - so I hope you will have a chance.
I agree with you about the plot summary. Perhaps if you see the film, you could rework it (the current version is one which was reduced from a previous version which was longer than MOS rules allow).
Anyway, I'll check back in in a few days. -Classicfilms (talk) 17:33, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just saw that you added some of the dates! If you have time to add more, that would be great. Thanks! -Classicfilms (talk) 17:36, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See the film again, it is really worth it. Thanks for attending to this. Great to hear you are moving to Conn. It's a beautiful state, you'll like it. I'm fine, just so swamped in RL and spending too much time here in the Wikipedia :-) Hopefully in a few weeks there will be more balance. Looking forward to working on the article with you in a week or so. -Classicfilms (talk) 17:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just an fyi - I have a little more flex time at the moment though I may go on break again next week. Thanks for fixing all of the refs. I created a related article on Women's field hockey and updated related links. The article looks better and there have been some great additions over the past few days as well - so over the next few months hopefully it will grow. I'm going to take a look at Taare Zameen Par as well since the article needs some attention. Have you seen it? It may interest you since you are in the medical field. -Classicfilms (talk) 19:01, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great! I've started working on Taare Zameen Par and will focus on it for a little while since there is still some clean up to do - both articles are probably worth watching since after a few months they may be ready for GA. -Classicfilms (talk) 04:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will get on to Haraprasad Shastri tomorrow. Let me check what I have as reference. Have a look at Birhor people. I had visited some of their shifting settlements when I was in school. I always thought of them to be Red Indians because of their conical tents. That was many years ago. I suddenly remebered tham and started looking for material. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 11:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Statred working on Haraprad Shastri. It will require more work. Nowadays, they are demanding in-line citations for the full article in DYK, not merely the hook. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 05:50, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seen your message. I think it is in some shape now. I am not keeping very well and therefore cannot devote as much time to Wikipedia as I did earlier. I think I will go into low key for sometime. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 06:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is nothing very serious, just getting old. With high blood sugar the prescriptios is 'walk' and walking tires me down so much that I don't have the energy to work on Wikipedia. Anyway, let me see how things shape up. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 16:01, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Kolkata trivia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Hi, Thanks for helping me out. This article does need a lot of editing. When I was editing it, I was completely focused on facts. Also, I did not finish the article. Right now, this is an article about the Calcutta riot. I would like see some exposure on other violence in the back drop of the Calcutta riot and then draw an overall conclusion of what direct action day achieved.

Yes definitely GA will be an excellent goal. Let me know what you are thinking.

Thanks SumanSumanch (talk) 07:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Uncertain" in Prelude —
I believe, the term "...leadership was uncertain." meant "areas where ML did not have enough influence" and in these places the mob could do whatever it pleased.
But does this constitute OR?

Suman.Sumanch (talk) 22:45, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it was Bidyut Chakrabarty's book The Partition of Bengal and Assam, 1932-1947: Contour of Freedom. And those were the exact words he had used. Sumanch (talk) 07:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a few changes based on your sujestions. Sumanch (talk) 01:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)+[reply]

Hey, I have made some changes to the article. I removed the "program of the day" block quote and re worded the section. It will need some copy edit. Can you take a look at it? Thanks. Sumanch (talk) 19:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BOI

Well nobody has raised any concern yet. There is no evidence that the site is unreliable. On the contrary, The Times of India, Hindustan Times, Rediff, all use BOI as a source of information. The site has recently updated its structure and disclaimers, and it's quite clear that it's a credible source. As someone who is very involved in the Bollywood biz, I can assure you that every detail on the site is true. Apart from that, very few Bollywood-related GAs use it, and nobody has raised any concerns, so I can't see why we should.:)

Hope you're doing well friend. ShahidTalk2me 16:56, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In any case, even if someone raises any concerns re BOI, we will find another way. There are other reliable sources with BO figures, as that of indiaFM, BO Mojo etc., but I still believe that we should fight for it. ShahidTalk2me 17:03, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for writing about Haraprasad Shastri! I enjoyed reading the article.

As one minor improvement, would you add in the Bengali for Haraprasad Shastri's name and the titles of his works? I tried finding it myself, but I know absolutely nothing about the language and was at a loss :)

Thanks again, « D. Trebbien (talk) 02:34 2008 April 13 (UTC)

Zinta BO

Just wanted to tell you that Box office india is surely a reliable source. Have you seen their new disclaimer and policy? They have been updated recently.

You should not be concerned. Please see this article by Hindustan Times. It says:

The net domestic gross of big-budget films like Krrish (Rs 64.86 crore), RDB (Rs 51.07 crore), Fanaa (Rs 53.13 crore), Lage Raho Munnabhai (Rs 69.94 crore), KANK (Rs 46.40 crore), Don (Rs 49.97 crore) and Dhoom 2 (Rs 68.24 crore) has been far more than that of 2005's big hits like No Entry (Rs 44.84 crore), Bunty Aur Babli (Rs 34.62 crore) or 2004's Veer- Zaara (Rs 41 crore) (Source: Boxofficeindia.com).

Which makes it quite obvious - the site is reliable, and if reputable newspapers use it as a source of information, why shouldn't we? So let's assume we can't add BOI, but we can add Hindustan Times. ;) Apart from that, according to what we see on the net, the info is correct.

Also, you're adding sources to prove one claim and it makes some great length problems, which was your biggest concern back in time. I think there is no need to replace this site. It just creates unnecessary work, and a great headache as well :) (BTW, I must say I'm very impressed with your dedication. Satyajit Ray is on my watchlist, and I was enormously impressed with your willingness to improve it and add refs.)

Most important to note: it was just one editor who caused the troubles back in time. Great editors like Sandy, and all the GA and FA reviewers, none of them has raised any concerns regarding the site. If someone does in future (which I really doubt), we can add the sites you had provided. What do you say?

Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 14:05, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zinta IPL

Hey Dwai, I have a little concern.

As you know, Zinta won ownership rights for a cricket team based at Mohali.

As a result, over the past few months, she has frequently been featured in the press. However, I still don't know if this new activity deserves a new sub-section in the Other work section on the article, and quite frankly, I'm afraid to start a new section (because I'm afraid I will ruin it pre-FAC)

What do you think? Does it have to be written and expanded in a new section or not? As of now, it has only a few lines in the In the media section.

I'm sorry for restoring that... I'm frankly not a big fan of this sentence... She's been featured on thousand of covers of the most popular magazines in India and abroad. Dwai hey again... I think those two "also"s you removed while copyediting are necessary. Of course, we have to beware of using too many "also"s because it ruins the brilliance of the prose, but here these "also"s are needed, because it changes the context, and ruins the flow.
"...and has supported women-related causes in India, such as female infanticide prevention. She has taken part in AIDS awareness drives and campaigns to clean up Mumbai." - I think some additional term is needed in order to make it flow, without it, as you see, it doesn't.

Wikiprojects

Regarding the Wikiprojects, I wish to know whether people simply self-proclaim themselves with particular relations with the projects.

I would like to ask another question. Say, an article has been marked as a stub and I edit it by adding some more details. Should I remove the 'stub' stamp? Moreover, say there is a medical article which I feel the need to be assessed - be it in terms of importance or contents. Other than writing on the discussion page of the article, what else should I do? Diptanshu.D (talk) 10:11, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zinta, Zinta's. she, her, columnist! :)

Hey!

Dwai, I've changed few "she"s and "her"s to Zinta, because it was making the prose quite unclear. For example, "a woman was injured... She reacted angrily" - who reacted? These questions were popping up in my mind quite often, who? to whom? whose? I remember a very old discussion I had regarding this with one editor. I think in that aspect, we cannot write the text technically, mentioning her name only once in a para... It has to be concluded by common sense. Everytime a new topic/subject/matter is started, we have to mention her surname. Also, "Zinta played Ambar, who does that and that and that. She received nomination" - although it sounds silly, it is ambiguous - who received? It's obvious that Zinta, but not for an encyclpedia article. See for example Jolie, her name is mentioned many times everywhere, but still the prose is brilliantly written. You may have done that because of that eitor's comment on the FAC, but I think it now looks much better. The article has only improved. But.... ---->

---> On a more important note, is Zinta considered to be a columnist? I dunno... Having written columns for BBC, is she now considered a columnist?

I agree completely. Well I have always been into art films which Ray and Dasgupta seem to be representative of. In my view art film directors are the best film directors but such directors often are much less successful commercially. But even still whether Bollywood is the most popular or not, I can't believe that films which have won the Indian National Film Awards were still missing. Could you imagine an article on Titanic or something missing? Just another example of systematic bias. Anyway I;ve started all the films, some can be expanded I think. As expected

What can we do? But one thing I can say, I won't let BOI to be deleted from the page. It is clearly reliable. And if I have the support of editors like Nichalp and Spartaz, and if newspapers like ToI and Hindustan Times use it, I can't see why Wikipedia cannot. We have to do something, because there is no end to that. I turned to another editor as well. ShahidTalk2me 13:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!! ShahidTalk2me 17:10, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think about renaming "Ownership of Indian Premier League team" as "Ownership of IPL team"? It's just too long... ShahidTalk2me 18:49, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would also like to note that it's better to name it "Ownership of cricket team" because it's much clearer. The IPL doesn't make much sense, because, after all, the matter is the cricket team, not the competition it is run by. On the one hand, it can be ICL, IPL, which doesn't really matter, and on the other, it can be football, basketball etc., which does. IMO, the importance here stands more on the kind of sports team we are talking about, and we have to clarify that in order to make readers understand what it is, and avoid vagueness. What do you think? I can also consult John. ShahidTalk2me 10:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
LOL OK... But I don't think nationality and bias are somehow related here in renaming a heading.. What is your opinion BTW of renaming it? ShahidTalk2me 11:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
LOL..:) Just wanted to clarify that I'm not doing that out of bias. It's just a common style preference... that's why I guess the IPL is somehow unnecessary. It's just a minor detail which can be introduced in the section itself. The matter is that she owns a cricket team I guess.
And dealing with the other aspect of the matter, if you add cricket, you can easily change it to "Ownership of IPL cricket team" because it gives the clarification of what an IPL actually is, so the acronym is clearer.
? ShahidTalk2me 11:38, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
WOW yeh I hope so too, but tere's one oppose. User:Scartol is willing to help... ShahidTalk2me 15:35, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"this work has transformed the image of Hindi film heroines." - isn't itt a POV? It is not really supported by the source, that's why I restored the sentence. I'm willing to wait. But that seemed inaccurate, and I was afraid of another critical reaction from Tony. You know him. But anyway, I have absolutely no problem restoring this sentence back to his version. ShahidTalk2me 16:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but you can see that he himself asked to fix the other sentences if they're inaccurate. I know I'm a bit impatient, but nevertheless, it's fine by me. Please don't get a bad impression of me. You know how important this article is to me, especially considering the hard work it took to bring it to the current FAC. ShahidTalk2me 16:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to hear from you. Thanks for the feedback. If you have a chance to go through either of the articles, I would appreciate it. The plot sections both need work, particularly Chak De India which exceeds the word limit according to the guidelines:

Film stub templates ({{Bengali-film-stub}}

Hi there! I know the Films WikiProject is incredibly active, but please don't create any stub templates or categories unless (a) there are already at least 30 articles that could use them, AND (b) you have proposed it at WikiProject Stub sorting Proposals. This will help prevent annoyed stub sorters from finding your work and possibly nominating it for deletion. Thanks! Her Pegship (tis herself) 18:15, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Or to be more precise, don't create a category where there's not at least 60 such stub articles. There's no difficulty with an upmerged template, however, regardless of size issues (which can then be "un-upmerged" readily, as required). Would you have any objection to me doing so in this case? Alai (talk) 03:10, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, nothing urgent or anything: I just thought I'd mention it here, rather than throwing more process at the issue, possibly prematurely. Personally, I'd be happy to keep the category at least for now on the basis of a good-faith guess that there's 60 such articles. Rather than listing them, I suggest just incrementally tagging them using the stub template, which we're pretty much likely to keep, regardless of the fate of the category. (One can then use "what links here" on the template, to count those separately from the parent category.) Alai (talk) 23:20, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyeditor has finished

He's copyedited the article. I didn't touch as you suggested except for some accuracies. I'm grateful for his work, yet I tend to disagree with some parts. Take for example the section you created, it was IMO written brilliantly, describing Zinta's activities with the team, and it was shortened. Never mind, we'll take care of these matters later, when we are not as stressed. Regards, ShahidTalk2me

BTW, are you aware of the IPL matches? ShahidTalk2me 19:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ianswered correctly on WP:PINQ!! ;) ShahidTalk2me 15:27, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well yeh I was quite shocked seeing Tony withdrawing his oppose. ShahidTalk2me 19:35, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its very strange as only I and Shahid have edited the article substantially in the last few days although they seem to have been editing it today. You need any help with the Gangtok article? Its pretty well related to Tibet ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I requested the Bengali-film-stub to Pegship a week or two anyway. There seemed more thatn 60 stubs seems as we were creting those articles at the time. I'll try to fill in the others soon, I've tried improving the Zinta article today but it is stressful and I am afraid I have offended Shahid in doing so. I would rather that situation passed quickly and the article just made it so save everybody the heartache! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:17, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

KMG

This source you provided in the edit summary while removing the Koi Mil Gaya claim under the reason of it not being her biggest commerical success, only supports the claim that it is. Koi Mil Gaya is the first film with Zinta in the leading role which comes on the list. Comments? ShahidTalk2me 08:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeh it doesn't count, especially considering that she had only 1 minute role huh! So KMG is her biggest commerical success... Have you seen the progress? Laser not only has withdrawn his oppose, but changed it to support. :) ShahidTalk2me 09:03, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's not that friend... If not BOI, we can use indiaFM, which has a full coverage. That's just the matter, NOI is clearly reliable and I really believe this without giving it a second thought. We can't only think about Zinta. Some 300 articles use it. Sarvagnya is the only one who has raised any concerns and good to note that most of the editors on here seem to agree with me that BOI is reliable. How can we explain the fact that such reputable sources as Times Online cite it? It's a joke what happens here. ShahidTalk2me 18:24, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh so that's great! ShahidTalk2me 18:29, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what do you think about Geometry guy's comment? I think it's a great analysis oh how we should take those figures. ShahidTalk2me 18:36, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, at the end of the day, the only one who knows the most precise numbers is, as said by GG, the production company itself. ShahidTalk2me 18:47, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gangtok

Will do. LOL I was wondering why you hadn't replied!! If there are enough topics it could also be developed in a navigation plate on Gangtok itself. I'm sure there are enough potential articles on temples, institutions, city districts, landmarkas, people etc that could be developed. I'll try to add those other Bengali films in a few days. Right now I am drawing up a beast Template:Districts of Laos for starting! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 15:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the progress is awesome!!! I liked the new images you got for article. One by one sections are being improved and good references added. However, I am bit concerned regarding question raised on authenticity of sikkiminfo.com. If information from such private websites cannot be added then we have to rely upon newspaper sites and govt sites only. Usually newspapers have copy right material and govt websites lack updated information. Question is raised on FAR page. Another point, why is City institutions made as sub-part of culture? Initially it was separate section. --gppande «talk» 15:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we will have to find some references other than sikkiminfo. There is lot of information in google books but most of the books are available online. Regarding Nagpur, the article has really got comprehensive but need to do make the language as good as on other FAs. And then may be get some peer review first. BTW, what would be typical deadline for Gangtok FAR before any decision is taken by FARC? --gppande «talk» 19:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I absolutely adore northern India. I love Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh too, Srinigar and all that. Tackling some areas of Sikkim and devloping Gangtok in detail sounds like a nice challenge. Eventually I want to see districts and cities of the world ALL covered in detail linking the world together! The uneveness though is huge but anything I can do to address this really. I'll see what I can do about developing some sikkim geo/cultural articles like villages/rivers/mountains etc in a template. I always consider templates extremely important as they kind of stamp our authority over a given area or topic. How about something like Template:Hydrology of Sikkim linking together articles on rivers/lakes valleys etc like I did with Template:Hydrology of Slovenia? regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 15:43, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Read them already! Liberian National Museum on the front page is also mine! Interestingly they are listed right next to each other. Shows that we share high editing calibre huh? I was going to suggest that you create a template for his Bose's films and add an actor infbox and image to the main article ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep but then it was 11,000. Since then I believe it has surpassed 20,000 now, possibly nearer 25,000. Somehow I managed to pass the 150,000 count yesterday which puts me behind only two people in the history of wiki I think. But don't be fooled by the number. Obvously I put a great deal of time and effort into the project but a huge number of those edits were made within seconds of each other whether it is mass stubbing, tagging, recategorizing etc. Most of the work I do on wiki is at root level which inevitably requires a great deal of edits. Such is the uneveness of this porject that major things have to be done to get it on its way. The project is still in its infancy so lets see how it develops! 18:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

That is exactly right my friend. Everything you said about too much wasted time in edit wars, admin fluffing around etc is one of the most serious problems in the development of the encyclopedia. A high proportion of editors do very little encyclopedia work that actually counts but think wikipedia is a council to exercise their power or POV in. This is part of the reason why I have always turned down adminship . It is highly frustrating when I see childish discussions going on and people warring with each other when I'm working on some area of the project and even if I hade two of those people helping me I could get things done in no time at all ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:42, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Congrats

Thanks Dwaipayanc for the message. Well, I'm glad that after a long and patient wait, its nomination ended successfully. I've noticed a few more facts about Rang De Basanti's influence in our society which I plan to add as a subsection or so. Would you mind to take a look and see if further copyediting is possible. I think with a good copy-edit and additional content, it can reach the magical distance. Thoughts? Mspraveen (talk) 10:49, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have a great day ! -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 11:09, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Nagpur

Thanks for working on Nagpur. I am currently working on expanding MIHAN. I have gathered much information on this very big and important project. It is really changing Nagpur a lot and you can feel the impact as soon as you land in Nagpur. Even rickshaw drivers know a lot about MIHAN - as I understood in my last visit to Nagpur :-) So maybe we can have a mention of MIHAN's industry in economy section and infrastructure in transport section. Please continue to improve the article as you deem fit. I would bit busy with real life and MIHAN for next few days and would then return back to Nagpur. BTW, Transport in Nagpur is nominated for DYK. --gppande «talk» 11:22, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

India quiz

Yes, it's been a long time. Thank you! :) My question got snatched away in minutes, though. --thunderboltz(TALK) 15:54, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ministry of Minority Affairs (India), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://cabsec.nic.in/abr/abr21b.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:46, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, when you created this article you added this image.... the image is of Rio de Janeiro.... I am removing it but I wanted to point out the mistake or whatever happened. gren グレン 20:52, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations!

Updated DYK query On 15 May, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Transport in Nagpur, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Finally...

Have you seen the WP:RSN discussion? --ShahidTalk2me 14:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well yes great... I'm of course not going to use PB and BV. Only will the necessary links be used. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 15:56, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That transcription follows the Romanization of Bengali, a phonemic transliteration of Standard Bengali. --SameerKhan (talk) 19:27, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the wikilinks for both pages (Romanization of Bengali, IPA). Let me know if there are any questions. --SameerKhan (talk) 05:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. The article is looking great so far; it's one of my favorite movies, so I'm glad to see someone working on the topic! --SameerKhan (talk) 06:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I am also targeting to expand a related article. GDibyendu (talk) 06:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have fixed some sentences of Plot. Also, it seems it was not clearly stated who Indir was. Another thing about John Huston's visit to India: since the movie (for which he was searching for locations) is linked, clarified that it was finally made in 1975. And removed one award as it seems to have been given to Aparajito. Will add it later to Aparajito page, once I am sure about the Danish Title. GDibyendu (talk) 07:53, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. Inviting Thoughts -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 05:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks!

RfA: Many thanks
Many thanks for your participation in my recent request for adminship. I am impressed by the amount of thought that goes into people's contribution to the RfA process, and humbled that so many have chosen to trust me with this new responsibility. I step into this new role cautiously, but will do my very best to live up to your kind words and expectations, and to further the project of the encyclopedia. Again, thank you. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 05:52, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship?

I know you have been asked this before but why don't you consider WP:RfA. You deserve to be an admin. I am willing to nominate you. Anyways, Why not? I am sure you ll get more than 150 supports. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 13:48, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pother Panchali

Yes, I noticed. In fact, sorry about this thingy I added before. Heh!

I'll see what I can do. I think the Plot section looks kind of odd, the way it is now. I'll bring up the first (and foremost?) concern I have about it right now, on the talk page. --Kuaichik (talk) 03:44, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'll try to examine it later. I'm in the middle of sorting out a new GeoBot which potentially could double the size of wikipedia within a few months if approved ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:41, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
