Calogaya is a genus of fungi belonging to the family Teloschistaceae.[1] This genus was first described in 2013 by Ulf Arup, Ulrik Søchting, and Patrik Frödén.[2] The genus name of Calogaya is in honour of Dr. Ester Gaya (fl. 2001), a Spanish Botanist (Mycology and Lichenology) from the University of Barcelona and the etymology prefix of Calo meaning 'spectacular'.[3]
