British Mixed is the term given to Britons of mixed raced descent. The term is officially classed as a separate race by the UK Census and is the fastest growing ethnic group in the country. The most common mixed race group is White British/Black Caribbean with over 200,000 people claiming White/Caribbean heritage. People of mixed race made up 1.2% of the population in 2001 or 677,117 people. The mixed race group is set to become the UK's biggest ethnic minority by 2020. [citation needed]
