Ken Rosato (born May 4, 1967 in New Rochelle, New York) is an American journalist. Rosato is the anchor of WABC-TV's morning and noon newscasts alongside Lori Stokes. Rosato replaced Steve Bartelstein, who was dropped from WABC-TV on March 13,2007. [1] Previously, Rosato was a freelance reporter for the station.

Prior to working at ABC, Rosato worked at WNYW-TV (New York City) as an anchor and reporter from 2002-2003. Like his colleagues Jeff Pegues and Phil Lipof, Rosato spent time in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida as an anchor at WFOR-TV from 1998-2002. Rosato was a panelist for WLIW-TV.

Rosato also worked as an anchor for 1010 WINS Radio in New York City, and was news director and main anchor at WBLI-FM and WLNY-TV, both on Long Island.

From Reporter to Anchor at WABC-TV

On the morning of July 6. 2007, the New York Press made public the following announcement from the officials at Channel 7: After a careful search and evaluation, I am pleased to announce that Ken Rosato will be joining Lori Stokes and Bill Evans on Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News at Noon. Ken has been a familiar face on the morning show for almost 4 years as a general assignment reporter. - News Director and WABC-TV Vice President Kenny Plotnik said. [2]

Rosato only began to fill in at the anchor desk on June 4,2007, interchangibly. According to the New York Daily News, "Of all the reporters and anchors that have sat in during the four month trial period, Rosato stands out from the rest when he sits next to Lori." WABC's directors also commented that Rosato will replace Bartelstein exactly four months to the date of Bartelstein's last newscast for Channel 7. Rosato successfully competed against a number of different reporters, including weekend morning anchors Michelle Charlesworth, Phil Lipof and his fellow morning colleague Lisa Colagrossi. WABC-TV also stated that Mr. Rosato "provided the most journalistic credibility".[3]

Rosato officially assumed the role of morning and noon co-anchor on July 9, 2007, although he has filled in since July 5.

On Thursday, July 12, 2007, Rosato was absent for the 5am-5:30am half hour of "Eyewitness News This Morning.", because he had overslept. He joined Lori Stokes that morning at 5:30am and made no mention of his absence in the first half hour. Ironically, Rosato had replaced former anchor Steve Bartelstein and Bartelstein got fired for his constant tardiness.

Rosato has reported since inheriting the role of noon anchor. On Thursday, July 19, 2007, Mr. Rosato reported on the 5 nd 6 p.m. editions of Eyewitness News about the Pothole Explosions in New York City.
