Frontline is noted for its serious coverage of issues.[1]The magazine has made it a point to analyse issues related to the working classes[2], the unorganized sectors, tribal regions[3], etc in India.

Since, 1991, the magazine has opposed the economic reforms of successive governments comprising divestment[4] in state owned corporations, opening of areas like telecom and insurance to private and foreign players among others.

On the foreign news coverage front, the Frontline's worldview is dominated by what it claims is a strong anti-imperialist[5] [6][7] [8][9][10][11] [12] sentiment.

Criticism

  • Critics point out that notwithstanding the pointing out of human right violations and transgressions in freedoms in several countries, the editorializing position is appreciative of China without commensurate criticism. Media watch group The Hoot published a letter by Tibetan filmmaker and writer, Tenzing Sonam written to the Editorial board of Frontline .[16].
