Sam Tomkins (born 23 March, 1989 in Wigan, Greater Manchester) is a rugby league player currently playing for Super League side Wigan Warriors.

Sam began his career at amateur Wigan outfit Wigan St. Patrick's playing at Stand Off progressing through the junior ranks and representing his service area and county before being signed for Wigan Warriors by Dean Bell and Brian Foley.

Since joining Wigan Sam has captained the junior academy side through the Wigan scholarship scheme and is held in high regard at the club. As well as playing Sam has also taken a part time course and teaches rugby league in the community in partnership with Tesco.

Sam played the 2007 season alongside Thomas Coyle and Stand Off and can also play Scrum Half. Sam made his debut for the Wigan first team on the 13th January, 2007 against Warrington in the Lee Briers testimonial defeat. He made his first appearance for Wigan in a competition on 12th May, 2008 starting the match against Whitehaven in the Challenge Cup 5th round, in which he scored five tries.[1]
