Gjinar is a village and a former municipality in the Elbasan District, Elbasan County, central Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Elbasan.[1] The population at the 2011 census was 3,478.[2] The municipal unit consists of the villages Lleshan, Gjinar, Valesh, Pashtresh, Derstile, Llukan, Sterstan, Xibresh, Maskarth, Kaferr and Pobrat.[3] It is part of the Shpati mountainous area, and a touristic destination. It is near a massive pine forest. It is known for weekly bazaar days.[4]
