Matteo Brancaleoni (born May 31, 1981 in Milan, Italy) is an Italian contemporary pop/jazz singer, actor and journalist.
Biography
Appreciated by Michael Bublè with whom he duetted live in Rome in 2007 during Bublè’s concert,[2][3][4] Matteo Brancaleoni is an Italian jazz singer, interpreter of the American ‘Songbook’. He is also among the ten best jazz singers in the Italian poll of 2011 voted by the readers of "Jazzit" magazine.[5] His Live Shows at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan have produced a 5 Sold Out Nights.[6][7] Over the years he collaborated, among others, with jazz musicians Franco Cerri, Renato Sellani, Gianni Basso and Fabrizio Bosso.[citation needed] The magazine Jazz Hot compared him to his idol, Frank Sinatra.[8] He was awarded in 2008 as Best New Talent at the Elba Jazz Festival. His debut album "Just Smile" and his second album "Live In Studio" were well received by audiences and critics nationally and internationally.[9][10] His record "Live in studio" was for two weeks, the best selling jazz album on iTunes and for six months his Live performances were listed in the live recommended section by the Apple Store.[11][12] His last album "New Life" was conceived from the encounter with the Roman writer and arranger Nerio Poggi (aka Papik), already a writing partner for Mario Biondi in his last two albums. Although filled with jazzy atmospheres "New Life" is also a classic blend of 6 great classics and 5 new original songs arranged with different moods and styles. Journalist, member of IJJA (International Jazz Journalist Association), the IFJ(International Federation of Journalists),[13] he wrote Jazz Magazine and Millionaire. President for two years of the Rotaract Club "Alba Langhe e Roero" (2009–2010) is a member of the Rotary Club of Alba.[citation needed]
