Tabernas is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It is also the name of the principal town of the municipality. Tabernas is on the edge of the famous desert named after it, in which many feature films and TV series have been made. There is a modest tourist industry due to the presence of three film sets, Mini Hollywood, Decorados, and Rancho Leone. It is the site of Moorish castle ruins, an old church, and a splendidly-refurbished Teatro Municipal.
