Alhama de Almería [ alˈa.ma ðe al.meˈɾi.a ], from Arabic al-ḥamma  /الحمّة / 'Hot spring', is a city in the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain . It belongs to the province of Almería .

Geographical location

Alhama de Almería is about four kilometers from the southeast corner of the nature reserve of the Sierra Nevada (Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada). The distance to Almería in the southeast is approximately 25 kilometers by road. The highway A 348 to Almería runs along the Rio Andarax , z. T. in his valley.
