"Alexander Joseph McGavick" (August 22,1863- August 25,1948).Alexander Joseph McGavick was the fourth Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse.He was born in Fox Lake,Illinois and was ordain to the Roman Catholic priesthood onJune 11,1887 for the Archdiocese of Chicago.On December 2,1898, he was appointed Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Chicago and was ordain a Roman Catholic bishop on May 1, 1899.On November 21,1921,Bishop McGavick was appointed Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Crosse.Bishop Mc Gavick died in [[La Crosse, Wisconsin]].Bishop McGavick was the founder of Aquinas High School in La Crosse.
