==Origins==
Zimmerman is originally from [[Southfield, Michigan]] where he began writing for his junior high school newspaper. After attending Cranbrook Summer Theatre School for five seasons and Hampton Playhouse for two, Stan headed to New York to get his BFA at [[NYU]]/Circle-in-the-Square drama program. He has appeared on Broadway dancing behind [[Rudolph Nureyev]] and the [[Joffrey Ballet]] and if you look closely you can see him in such films as [[The Chosen]], [[Zelig]], and [[Risky Business]]. Stan worked in casting before moving to Los Angeles, where he's been part of one of the longest running comedy writing teams, Zimmerman & Berg.
The duo has received two WGA nominations - one for The Golden Girls and one for the infamous lesbian kiss episode of Roseanne.

Stan made his stage directing debut with the 30th anniversary revival of ''Gemini'' at the [[Celebration Theatre]], then mounted LA productions of [[A Tuna Christmas]], starring [[Mindy Sterling]] and [[Patrick Bristow]] at Theatre Asylum, [[Spike Heels]] at Actors Circle, ''BLINK & You Might Miss Me'' at Asylum Lab, Hollywood Fringe Festival and SF Fringe and most recently [[Entertaining Mr. Sloane]] starring [[Ian Buchanan]] and [[Olivia d'Abo]] at the Actors Company. James Berg is an American television producer and writer. He has written for many television series including The Golden Girls, Roseanne and Gilmore Girls and the 1996 feature film A Very Brady Sequel.[1] He has frequently collaborated with fellow producer and writer Stan Zimmerman. Berg and Zimmerman were also the creators and executive producers of the sitcom, Rita Rocks, starring Nicole Sullivan and Tisha Campbell-Martin which ran on Lifetime Television.[2]

Berg and Zimmerman received two WGA nominations - one for The Golden Girls, "Rose's Mother" and one for the lesbian kiss episode of Roseanne, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".[3]
