Loni Kaye Anderson (born August 5, 1946 in Saint Paul , Minnesota ) is an American actress . She has been nominated three times for the Golden Globe and twice for the Emmy .

Life and accomplishments

Loni Kaye Anderson was born on August 5, 1946, to Carl Anderson and Maxine Kallin in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She began studying art at the University of Minnesota in 1963 . At the age of 18, she married her first of four men in 1964, her fellow student Bruce Hasselbeck. A short time later, daughter Deidra was born and in 1966 the marriage was divorced again.

Anderson made her debut on an episode of the 1975 television series SWAT in which she played Miss Texas . From 1978 to 1982 she played the role of Jennifer Elizabeth Marlowe , the receptionist for the radio station WKRP, in the television series WKRP in Cincinnati . For this role she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in 1980, 1981 and 1982 ; in 1980 and 1981 she was nominated for an Emmy Award .

In the 1980 television film The Jayne Mansfield Story , she played actress Jayne Mansfield, who was killed in a car accident . At her side was the still little-known Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mansfield's husband Mickey Hargitay . Many years after this film, she was to play in another television role, the western The Law on the Neck (1994), alongside Mansfield and Hargitay's daughter Mariska Hargitay .

In the action comedy Der raging Gockel (1983), Anderson starred alongside Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty . For this role, she was nominated for the Golden Raspberry in two categories in 1984 . She played one of the leading roles in the comedy Paradise on Trial (1986), in the television thriller Linked to Death (1989), in the comedy Munchie (1992) and in the television drama Deadly Family Secrets (1995). In the action comedy Ninja Kids - Mission Freizeitpark (1998) she played alongside Hulk Hogan .

In 2017 she appeared in a film for the first time since 1998 after numerous roles in TV series. She starred alongside comedian Bridget Everett in the television comedy Love You More .

Anderson was married a total of four times, including from 1973 to 1981 - her second marriage - to actor Ross Bickell . In her third marriage, she was married to Burt Reynolds from 1988 to 1995 . She has one child each from her first and third marriage. She has been married to the musician Bob Flick since 2008.
