Ángela Carrasco

Ángela Altagracia Carrasco Rodríguez (born January 23, 1951 - according to other information 1945, 1950 or 1954 - in Manzanillo / Dajabón ) is a Dominican singer.

Carrasco was best known as a singer in the Dominican Republic with her father and brothers in the 1960s. In 1972 she went to Spain to study design. But she soon appeared as the presenter of a show on the Televisión Española . Here the singer Camilo Sesto became aware of her, who won her for the role of María Magdalena in the production of Jesucristo Superstar , in which she became known in Spain.

With the song No, no hay nadie más from her first album, she reached the top of the charts for the first time. She had further successes in Spain and Latin America with pieces such as Quererte a ti , Amigo mío cuenta conmigo , Calladas , Mi hombre and Ahora o nunca .

In addition, she sang roles such as Elisa in My fair Lady , recorded with Willy Chirino Caribe and Celia Cruz Candela , sang with Juan Gabriel Libro abierto and was successful with the pop ballad Boca rosa .
