Åge Hovengen
Åge Hovengen (born December 21, 1927 in Brandbu , Norway - † October 19, 2018 ) was a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet .
Life
Hovengen was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oppland in 1977 and was re-elected twice. Before that he was Deputy Member of Parliament from 1973 to 1977. From 1973–1976 he was a regular member of parliament and succeeded Thorstein Treholt in the Bratteli II government . At the local level he was a member of the Vestre Slidre Municipal Council from 1963 to 1977 .
Outside of politics, he worked as a car mechanic. He was also active in the Norwegian Farmers 'and Smallholders' Union.
