the largest lake in Lønset |
Ångardsvatnet is a lake in the Storlidalen valley and is located in the parish of Lønset in the Norwegian municipality of Oppdal .
geography
The lake is the largest of the lakes in Lønset and is located approx. 35 km west of the main town Oppdal in the municipality of the same name. The lake, located in the Trollheimen mountains , is surrounded by the mountains Gråfjellet , Kråkvasstind and Lorthøa in the south and Bårdsgardskammen and Okla in the north. Ångardsvatnet is connected to Lake Dalsvatnet by the 1.7 km long Haugelva River . The regulation of the lake happened in connection with the expansion of the Driva power station , which opened in 1973, and resulted in the Vindøla river , which flows from the east into Dalsvatnet and into the Driva river near Lønset , having very little water for part of the year leads along.
activities
During the summer, the lake offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and other activities. Lønset's landowners' association has the right to fish and sells fishing permits to sport fishermen. In winter, activities are possible on prepared trails and there is also the possibility of ice fishing . A competition is held every year at Ångardsvatnet around Easter.
