The Çakıt Çayı (also Çakıt Suyu ) is a right tributary of the Seyhan in the southern Turkish provinces of Adana and Niğde .
The Çakıt Çayı arises at the confluence of the Çiftehan Çayı and Kırkgeçit Deresi in the Ulukışla district in the southeast of the Niğde province. The European route 90 follows the river over a length of 13 km. The river passes the district town of Pozantı . The river then turns south and cuts through the Taurus Mountains . At the Yerköprü weir , part of the river water is channeled through a 5433 m long tunnel to the Kapıkaya hydroelectric power station (20 MW) near the village of Kapıkaya . The rest of the water flows through the Kapıkaya Kanyon . The Çakıt Çayı finally flows into the western end of the Seyhan reservoir .
