The Çaygören Dam ( Turkish Çaygören Barajı ) is located 3 km east of the city of Sındırgı on the upper reaches of the Simav Çayı in the western Turkish province of Balıkesir .

The Çaygören dam was built in the years 1966–1971 as a sand-gravel embankment dam with a clay core . It was originally built for the purpose of irrigation and flow regulation . The dam is 52.5 m high (above the valley floor) and has a volume of 3.4 million m³. The associated reservoir has a water surface of 8.13 km² and a storage volume of 147 million m³. The dam is designed for the irrigation of an area of ​​20,026 ha.

In the years 2005-2006 the dam was supplemented by a hydroelectric power station. This is located at the southern foot of the dam. With two turbines (2.8  MW and 1.8 MW) the standard energy capacity is 21 GWh per year.
