The École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs du Mans or ENSIM ( French for National Higher Engineering School in le Mans ) is a French engineering school founded in 1995 that originally specialized in working with vibrations, acoustics and sensors. Since 2009 she has also been offering training in computer science.

tasks

The school's tasks include research, professional development, technology transfer to companies, both in France and abroad. ENSIM is equipped with various state-of-the-art laboratories such as a. a clean room, an optics laboratory, a laboratory for measuring vibrations and a polymer chemistry laboratory. The partnership of the École nationale supérieure d'ingénieurs du Mans with the acoustics laboratory of the Université du Maine (LAUM) enables students to take a corresponding Master of Science degree in parallel in the third year of their studies on acoustic sensors .

history

ENSIM was founded in 1995 and aimed at training mechanical engineers and engineers in industrial metrology. At that time, ENSIM was still located in the buildings of the Institut Universitaire de Technologie (IUT). The ENSIM building was inaugurated on December 1, 1997. The building designed by the architects Christian Hauvette and Bernard Dufournet has a floor area of 5000 m²; the construction costs amounted to four million euros. In 2006, vibrations and acoustics were introduced as focal points with the aim of training engineers in measurement systems, vibration and acoustics. Since 2009, courses in computer science have also been offered at ENSIM.

foreign languages

Learning English is compulsory; ENSIM has a language laboratory for this purpose . All students have to take a certification test of level "B2" according to the Common European Framework of Reference . The corresponding level in the TOEIC is 785 points. In addition, credits are awarded for learning another foreign language.

Students can choose a foreign language from the following languages:

various

The school has almost 20% foreign students, mostly from Africa and Asia. It has partnerships with many schools and universities around the world and also participates in the ERASMUS program.
