Edith Bongo
Édith Lucie Bongo Ondimba (born March 10, 1964 in Brazzaville , Republic of the Congo , † March 14, 2009 in Rabat , Morocco ) was the wife of Omar Bongo from 1990 to 2009 as the première lady of Gabon .
She was the daughter of Denis Sassou Nguesso , President of the Republic of the Congo, and was a symbol of the close ties between the two Central African leaders. The trained pediatrician was active in the fight against AIDS . The marriage had two children.
