Émile Edouard Charles Henri Digneffe (born December 20, 1858 in Liège , Wallonia , Belgium , † June 16, 1937 ibid) was a Belgian liberal politician , mayor of Liège and President of the Belgian Senate .

biography

After attending school, he studied law and after his admission he worked as a lawyer , later also as a banker and entrepreneur . As such, he was one of the sponsors of the Exposition universelle de 1905 and the Exposition internationale de la grande industrie, sciences et applications, art wallon ancien , the world exhibitions of 1905 and 1930 in Liège.

In 1919 he became a member of the Senate and remains a member until 1936. At the same time he was mayor of Liège from 1921 to 1928.

He became President of the Senate on December 27, 1932, and held this post until August 11, 1934.
