Gerhard E. Gründler

Gerhard E. Gründler (born March 21, 1930 in Sachsenberg near Schwerin ; † March 24, 2012 in Hamburg ) was a German journalist .

Life

Gründler, born in Sachsenberg in 1930, studied law and political science at Kiel University and journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington (USA). In 1956 he passed the first state examination in law. He then completed a traineeship at the Schleswig-Holsteinische Volkszeitung in Kiel. After working as an editor for Die Welt (1958–1963) and Stern (1963–1971), Gründler was editor-in-chief of Vorwärts from 1971 to 1976 . Three years as a Stern reporter followed. From 1979 to 1981 Gründler was Bonn correspondent for the WDR radio and from 1981 to 1991 director of the NDR -Landesfunkhaus in Hamburg. He died on March 24, 2012 in Hamburg.

His estate is kept in the archive of social democracy of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung . It mainly contains reports from his time as editor-in-chief of Vorwärts .
