Émilie Jouvet (born July 29, 1976 ) is a French filmmaker and photographer .

Life

Emilie Jouvet is considered to be one of the most important European sex-positive directors. She also exhibits as a photographer and is politically active in the queer scene in France. In 2003 she began directing, initially with pornographic short films.

In 2006 she directed her first feature film, a feminist pro-gender queer and transgender film in the context of the post-porn movement, Pour une nuit ( One Night Stand ). The film is considered to be the first French porn shot by a lesbian artist for a lesbian audience.

Sex is not staged in it, rather the performers live out their individual fantasies and ideas of sexuality in front of the camera. This gives a lasting impression of authenticity, “which makes the filmmaker's special closeness and special respect for the sex performers as individuals clear. ... It's more than porn, it's kind of a documentary about lesbian and transgender sex in a very cool scene. That this is the filmmaker's intention is shown by the interviews with the protagonists on the film's DVD, in which they talk about their experiences with self-portrayal in front of the camera. "

In 2009 she hired for the filming of the documentary Too Much Pussy! a group of performers for live shows, which together toured Europe from Berlin to Malmö , consisting of: Wendy Delorme , Judy Minx , DJ Metzgerei , Mad Kate , Sadie Lune and Madison Young : Too Much Pussy! Feminist Sluts - A Queer X Show . This feminist, sex-positive road movie, a Franco-German production, premiered at the Cinémarges Festival in Bordeaux in April 2010.

Émilie Jouvet's first photo book, Émilie Jouvet: The Book , was published by Womart editions in France in 2014.
