Óscar Alberto Pérez (born April 7, 1981 in Caracas ; † January 15, 2018 there ) was a Venezuelan police officer and militant fighter against the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro . He became known through a helicopter attack on June 27, 2017, including on the Venezuelan Ministry of the Interior. Another well-known operation was Operation Genesis , during which weapons were taken from a National Guard post by means of a deception maneuver. His group was caught by security forces in the mountainous district of Caracas El Junquito and executed on the spot. Former prosecutor Luisa Ortega Díaz handed related documents to the International Criminal Court .
